Prayers for our ENEMIES

Who are our enemies? We may easily identify. Putin, XI Jinping, Kim Jong Un, the Palestinians, Hamas, Muslims– the list could be longer. These people live thousands of miles from us. Yet, these leaders are directly opposed to Christ and any who follow the God we worship. They actively promote killing all that do not follow their dictatorial ways including those in their own country. They deny God and despise freedom to worship HIM. Our government and other countries spend trillions of dollars on weapons to protect us. Any gap in our security is an invitation for an attack. If these names or groups are unfamiliar, they represent Russia, China, North Korea, and various Muslim groups.

So, what are we to do? It is easy to ignore the dismal news and pretend we are helpless.  These are countries we are forbidden to visit. Yet God has given direct commandments to pray for our enemies. We cannot live in a bubble. We are to love and spread God’s word in the entire world. This is one way we can do just that.

We ARE NOT HELPLESS! God has given us direct answers. We access the Holy Spirit, and we are commanded to PRAY! Matt 5:44-Love your enemies – PRAY for those who persecute you.

There are over 30 specific commands to pray for those who are against us because of our faith. Do we name our enemies and ask God to soften their hearts? How often are we genuinely concerned for their souls? If we believers are not praying; who is?

God rules the universe. His power can overcome any weapon man invents including those of mass destruction. The power resides inside of you. We engage when we pray. Christians have and will continue with God’s blessing change the world. We pray for the sick believing that prayer will restore heath. These enemies are truly ill.

Rember James 5:16-  The prayers of a righteous man avails much.

While you are praying remember to pray for our civic leaders as well.

1Timothy 2:1-4……prayers for Kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Romans 13:1-2 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except which God has established.

Prayer changes you and you can change the world.
